Happy New Year Ruggers.
This year marks our 63rd year as a rugby club here in Ontario.
Well, 2020 was not what we anticipated it would be, to say the least. Our Senior Ladies' were poised to move up into the OWL for 2020 and our Senior Men's teams were eager to welcome a new coach.
The last 12 months have seen different challenges and changes on many fronts and as a club, we responded very well. With the absence of a season and registration fees we were forced to come together like no other time to "pay our dues". I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who shared their Time, Talent and Treasure to financially assist not only the Rugby Club but our partners, The St. George's Society of London. Alex Hodgson stepped up in a massive way to spearhead the fundraising efforts throughout the year and we cannot thank him enough. Well done, Big Red!
The coming year will present as many challenges and uncertainty as we have seen this past year and as a Club, I am confident we will respond positively. As the public health crisis improves our ability to operate and compete in the sport we love will likely change.
As always, feel free to contact any one of your Club Executive with any questions, concerns or offers of assistance.
Yours in rugby,
Jason Howard (Club President)
